The short version: your spots stay yours. Boondockr keeps the campsites, photos, notes and ratings you log on your device. It has no backend, no accounts, and no analytics. If you turn on iCloud sync with Boondockr Pro, your data goes to your own private iCloud, never to us. We cannot see your spots. We never sell data and we never show ads. You can export or delete everything at any time.
1. Who We Are
Boondockr is developed by Anchori Intel, a sole-trader app studio operated by Stuart McMillan, registered in Australia (ABN 51 277 394 323). Questions about this policy: hello@boondockrgear.com.
2. What Boondockr Collects
Nothing. Boondockr has no server, no user accounts, and no analytics. Everything you record stays on your device: the spots you log (name, coordinates, arrival date, stay limit, cell signal, road and level ratings, star ratings, and amenities), the photos you attach, and any notes you write.
- Stored on-device using Apple's SwiftData with at-rest encryption.
- Never transmitted to a server we control. We have no backend that holds your data.
3. Location
Boondockr uses your device location only when you choose to tag a spot with its coordinates. That location is saved to your on-device journal. It is never tracked in the background, never shared, and never sold. If you never grant location access, you can still log spots manually.
4. Photos
Photos you attach to a spot are stored on your device, and in your own iCloud if you enable sync. Anchori Intel has no access to them. Boondockr only reads the photos you explicitly pick or capture for a spot.
5. iCloud Sync and Backup (Boondockr Pro)
If you subscribe to Boondockr Pro and enable sync, your spots are stored in your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit, so they back up and sync across your devices. This is your iCloud, not ours; we do not have credentials to read it. If you sign out of iCloud, sync stops and your local data stays on the device. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
6. Subscriptions
Boondockr Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's App Store. Purchases and renewals are handled entirely by Apple using StoreKit; Anchori Intel never sees your payment details. We use no third-party subscription or purchase SDK.
7. What We Never Do
- No accounts, no login, no email list.
- No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
- No tracking identifiers (no IDFA, no ATT prompt). Boondockr opts out of tracking entirely.
- We never sell or share your data with anyone.
- We never train an AI model on your spots or photos.
8. Your Rights
You can, at any time, from inside the app:
- Export everything — Settings, then Export your spots, as GPX (opens in any map app) or CSV.
- Delete everything — Settings, then Delete all my data. This permanently wipes your on-device spots and photos and your iCloud records.
- Cancel your subscription — Settings, then Manage Subscription opens Apple's standard subscription screen.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data. To exercise any of these, contact hello@boondockrgear.com and we will respond within 30 days.
9. Data Retention
Anchori Intel does not retain your data because we never have it. iCloud data lives in your Apple account for as long as you keep it there. Local data on your device persists until you delete it, uninstall the app, or erase the device.
10. Children
Boondockr is rated 4+ and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. There is no account to create and nothing is transmitted off the device.
11. International Users
Boondockr is built in Australia and operates under Australian privacy law. Because your spots never leave your device or your own iCloud, there is no international transfer of your data by us to worry about.
12. Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy materially, we will update the date at the top of this page and note the change in the next app update's release notes. We never change it retroactively in a way that reduces your protections.
